Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 6:27PM Michael Bay Announces 'Transformers 3' for 2011
Get ready for three times the explosions, three times the music video direction, three times the Bayhem: Transformers 3 will be in theaters on July 1, 2011, according to a report this afternoon at the official website of director Michael Bay.

Bay had at first insisted that Paramount give him a breather before going back to the world of the big-ass alien robots, saying 2012 would be less problematic. But he is already meeting with ILM and Hasbro to incorporate more Transformers and - if possible - even less story. Ehren Kruger is on board, at least in the development stage, as the screenwriter.
It is very hard to argue with any movie that makes $800 million around the world, which puts Transformers 2 at number three for the year in terms of global box office, although it won the US war pretty easily. Behind Harry Potter and Ice Age when you add in the foreign markets, Transformers' $832 million is still almost twice as much as the year's fourth-biggest film around the world, Angels & Demons. Because of that, Paramount is striking while the iron is hot and keeping Transformers on the same schedule that produced hits separated by only two years.
And Megan Fox? She spent much of the summer blasting Bay and the movie, but seemed to signal a return in a contrite response to an angry letter written by members of the movie's crew. And Jennifer's Body...well, you're not going to see a sequel to that. In fact, Bay addresses Fox' return specifically in his post:

"Well its official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st 2011. Not 2012.Today is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I'm flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters. P.S. Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture. Please consult your Physician when working under my direction because some side effects can occur, such as mild dizziness, intense nausea, suicidal tendencies, depression, minor chest hair growth, random internal hemorrhaging and inability to sleep. As some directors may be hazardous to your health, please consult your Doctor to determine if this is right for you. Pain and Gain is right after shooting of Trans 3."

I was going to avoid this just out of principle but since Bay is going to do it I figure what the hell...
DINOBOTS!
Big, realistic, shiny-ass-chrome, Jurassic Park looking Dinobots! With the original voice actor Gregg Berger as Grimlock! They get the Dinobots in and lose everything they've been doing wrong and I just might watch.
Yes I know that lose everything wrong is a bit of a stretch but I can dream dammit! MEEEE GRIMLOCK!!!
