Jensen Ackles Denies 'Captain America' Rumor

I'll give Jensen Ackles some credit here. Apparently, his name had come up in the discussions for Captain America, and as is usually the case, there's nothing at all to the talk. But while everyone from Charlize Theron to Brian Austin Green has gladly accepted rumors about their involvement with the third Batman movie (or even started their own campaign to be a Batvillain), Ackles is having none of it.

The star of My Bloody Valentine and TV's Supernatural is quoted by Worst Previews as saying, "It's been brought to my attention that it's online," he said. "I have not gotten a call from my agent, I have not gotten a script, I have not talked to anyone about it. I think it's all a rumor."

And then, just so we're clear, Ackles added, "They're not going to pull some dude of the CW and give him Captain America. I'm squashing it now; I know nothing about it."

Well played, sir. Well played.

Of course, there still needs to be a Captain America cast for Marvel's Avengers tie-in. Of the four primary characters moving that direction, Cap has probably the coolest origin story, cinematically speaking. A WWII-era period piece superhero movie...let's hope it's better than The Rocketeer. Curiously enough: Same director, Joe Johnston.

They already passed over the best choice for Thor in Alexander Skarsgard so they might as well give him Captain America instead.

Well if its an internet rumor it might end up coming true. Wasn't Christian Bale chosen to play batman in part because of the internet hype? I think he would be a Jensen would be a great choice for Captain America. He looks right, does the tough hero thing well. Yes he is "just some guy from the CW" but I think he is on the way up and it would be great for him to get a break like this.

I hope he does not end up doing this role. I'm a fan of his work on Supernatural, but he would just look too silly in a superhero costume. He's a great actor and deserves a role that will get him some well deserved critical acclaim.

Well I am sooooo happy jensen came out ,that false rumour is crazy . I seen that fake interview where it had jensen is playing captain america and and he's dating danneel which was all lies. That fake interview was on jensen's imdb, it also had jared and genivieve were datind which is a lying rumour to. Good jensen came out and confront the lying rumour.
