Vin Diesel Bails on 'xXx' Threequel?
Friday, October 16, 2009 at 9:01AM
Here's some news that's sure to elicit very little objection: Vin Diesel may have dropped out of xXx 3. The film, oddly enough, is subtitled The Return of Xander Cage, so if there's no Diesel, how on Earth would that work?

CineFools says it has learned "from a trusted source" that Vin walked out on the project, but there was no information beyond that. It's also not something that has been independently confirmed, so tread lightly with this one.
Still, who wants a third xXx movie? The first one was OK; it had a few fun moments. The sequel with Ice Cube was among that year's absolute worst movies, plus who could ever buy the former O'Shea Jackson in that role? The answer to who wants another one might be first answered by pointing out that director Rob Cohen, originally attached to come back as well, opted out earlier this summer. Cinefools says the two departures might be connected, but at the very least - if this story is true - they're probably not un-connected.
Sony is really counting on this film to put itself back in the younger spy arena it may well have started with the original xXx. But since then, Bourne and Bond have taken over that mantle, and there are several other new secret agent franchises being launched all over Hollywood. If Diesel's gone, I can't see this one making much of an impact.

According to MTV, there's nothing to this rumor at all and Diesel is still attached. So, if you were hoping for a world with no third xXx movie...sorry.

does anyone think porn is the only business still thriving during the credit cruch? I think many folks seek refuge in buying and wanking porn during the crunch
