Bill Murray Expresses a Death Wish for McG

There is a great feature on the enigmatic Bill Murrary in the Friday edition of The Times. It discusses his off-the-grid approach to his career (no agents or publicists, etc.) and addresses some of the on-set problems he has had with cast and crew members in the past.

This summer, McG, defending the Christian Bale outburst on Terminator Salvation, said that kind of stuff always happens on his movie sets, and that Murray headbutted him during the production of Charlie's Angels. While it's true that Murray and Lucy Liu got into it, but Murray says the headbutt never happened, although he does have a good punishment for McG in the future.

"It's bullshit. That's complete crap. I don't know why he made that story up. He has a very active imagination," he told the paper, adding without a hint of sarcasm, "He deserves to die. He should be pierced with a lance, not headbutted."

And that's that. No "I'm kidding," no laughs. The Times says Murray's delivery was deadpan, but it always is. So make of that statement what you will.

Murray also talked a bit about Ghostbusters 3, which is looking like a dimmer prospect with each passing day. Earlier in the week, Murray told reporters he hadn't signed on for anything, then Dan Aykroyd said on Thursday night the movie hadn't received the green light. In the Times piece, Murray again expresses doubt, so we'll see if this one fades away or not.

The time to strike for Ghost Busters 3 was a little bit ago with the game hype, except then the game came out, and it while it was pretty it was not a very good game, and thus us fans who play video games are a little off put for the idea.
