Sunday, October 18, 2009 at 7:04AM This Week in Trailers: 'Expendables,' 'Goats,' Gibson
I had the occasion to attend the 2009 International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival last night in Tempe, Arizona and became engaged or entangled in a conversation about Stallone's The Expendables. To sum up: Someone was really looking forward to it and I told her to watch the trailer to see if she still held that opinion afterwards. It's not a very good selling tool.

That trailer came out this week, as did a few that acutally do look good. The latest teaser for The Men Who Stare at Goats with George Clooney and Ewan McGregor makes it look like one of the must-see flicks over the next couple months, and we're getting another Almodovar/Penelope Cruz film, too. Oh, and Mel Gibson's back in the movies after an absence of about half a decade.

Ouch! This may not bode well for The Expendables

Good news for The Expendables: It looks better than The Spy Next Door with Jackie Chan

A TV movie headed for theaters: The Apartheid drama Endgame
