New Alien Abduction Docuvideo for 'The Fourth Kind'

So, do you believe in UFOs? I believe in alien civilizations on other planets, or at least the extreme possibility of them, but even though I once saw something I couldn't identify (in broad daylight, no less), I'm not convinced I saw an alien craft. Millions and millions and millions are convinced, though.

The Fourth Kind relates to the rating scale established in the 1970s for alien contact. The first degree is a sighting, the second is evidence, the third is contact, and The Fourth Kind is abduction. As far as I can tell, the new film is not actually based on case studies - although it claims to be - but rather the number of mysterious disappearances in Nome, Alaska around the time of the film's setting. More than likely, that's a combination of a higher-than-average alocholism rate there and the cold climate. People wander off...and that's it.
Still, it's a good premise for a thriller, and this is a fantastic video supporting the case for alien contact, which premiered this weekend at Yahoo! Movies. It explains in greater deatil the four kinds of encounters and has plenty of archival footage in its corner. Take a look:
I kind of hope this does well for Milla Jovovich. I dig her. She doesn't do that many emotionally or psychologically challenging roles, but I've always thought she was more than competent. It comes out November 6th.

Would the archival footage be from real-life (e.g. Jimmy Carter UFO incident, etc.) or is the studio making stuff up to hype the movie?
Well, there's legitimate archival footage, but the stuff in the movie that's referenced - the sleep deprivation experiment and all that - is not real.
The designation also includes a Level: Fifth Kind centering on repeat-abduction cases with testimony of hybridization expiramentation (i.e. removal of human 'eggs' for fertilization). Science acknowledges such a program might be of use to entities with a pysiological aversion to earth atmosphere, biological contaminants, or simple microbes (as with small pox epidemics which ravaged isolated cultures on earth). A hybrid would be an extraterrestrial specimen able to survive inner-atmosphere activity; either close surveillance, or overt contact...possibly to more closely resemble the human animal to alleviate anxiety. As with any such speculation, "we" will be the last to know. Interestingly, an early 1960's study by the prestigious Brookings Institute suggests the "human societal reaction" would be more devastating to modern civilization than the contact itelf, even if such contact was benevolent. Is it real? Maybe its a scenario which should be studied very carefully, in case it is.
