Shane Black Writing New 'Doc Savage' Movie

Any chance I get, I tell people to watch Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, written and directed by Shane Black. It's an easier sell now than wehn it came out, thanks to Robert Downey Jr.'s ascendence. Bit it's a great, funny, weird little mystery movie.

Of course, Black is best knows as the writer of Lethal Weapon, and he's hammered out a few other good scripts, too, over the years. Now, Ain't It Cool News says he'll be writing a new version of the classic comic book character Doc Savage. Produced by the team of Orci and Kurtzman (Star Trek, Transformers), Doc Saveage will not be the complete overhaul a lot of these movies tend to be. In fact, the word is it will be based in the 1930s, much like the comic's origin.

News of this project is not a recent development. In fact, it's made more rounds around Hollywood than Heidi Fleiss. For one reason or another, it has never really gained traction. That should absolutely change with Orci and Kurtzman, who could get just about anything made, and their hiring of Shane Black is just about perfect.

Doc Savage is a renaissance man, an adventurer, scientist, doctor, inventor, and all around bad-ass. Tough to cast the role, but it's a great opportunity for somebody. Given the pedigrees involved, this one could be a ton of fun.

I know you mentioned Worthington in the running (and rightly so) for the new Mad Max but he might make for a perfect fit here as well.

From the description it sounds like I would be a good candidate for this role.

Also, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is one of my favorites.

Sam Worthington has been in one shitty movie and he was only okay in it. He definitely didn't elevate it. Now people want him for Mad Max and Doc Savage? Tards.

Really? He's only been in one movie? Hmmmm... well your opinion no longer matters because you proved you don't know anything right there. Thanks for coming out though.
