Stare at Four New 'Men Who Stare at Goats' Clips
Monday, October 26, 2009 at 7:46AM
Now if you've seen the trailers and TV spots for The Men Who Stare at Goats - and there were quite a few chances to catch the commercials this weekend during the football games, you've seen shorter versions of these clips. They've all been used before. But this is probably your first chance to see the scenes in their entirety.

The movie, about a strange military program that trained "psychic soldiers," actually has some basis in reality. There was at one point a proposal to create an experimental Army unit called the First Earth Batallion and among Jim Channon's ideas in the 1970s was to use music as a psychological weapon of torture. The Army did adopt that down the road, blasting music in Panama to roost Manuel Noriega out of his mansion, along with recordings of rabbit slaughter and jet engines.
However, the movie itself is probably far afield from the events as they actually happened. Dig the new clips, which feature George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Bridges, and Kevin Spacey.
