New Images from Ethan Hawke's 'Daybreakers'

The midnight crowd at the Saw VI screening I attended seemed really impressed with the trailer for Daybreakers, the futuristic sci-fi vampire movie about that breed's race against time and the shortage of blood.

I don't know if Daybreakers will work allegorically or not, but it could easily be about humankind raping Earth's natural resources, much in the way District 9 had a none-too-subtle message about Apartheid. We just received a couple new images from the film courtsey of Lionsgate, featuring Ethan Hawke and Willem Dafoe:

The film looks really cool and ambitious, which makes the early January release date all the more puzzling. It's occupying One Missed Call territory, and that's not really Option A. But we'll keep an open mind.

I'm REALLY looking forward to this one. Great concept, great cast, and not one Teen Beat-wannabe glowing vampire to be seen.
