Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 4:05AM Behind-the-Scenes: '2012' Laying Waste to Vegas
We recently told you about Martin Lawrence and Jamie Foxx working on a movie based on their drag characters, Shenehneh and Wanda, which is the most powerful proof I've yet seen that the Mayans might be right: The world may be coming to an end, after all. If it is, I hope that day gets here before the Sheneneh movie.

Speaking of the end of the world, Roland Emmerich is the Architect of the Apocalypse, once again revisiting global destruction with this weekend's 2012. Say what you will about the films overall, Emmerich almost always has some remarkable effects in his movies. If he didn't, there'd pretty much be no movie at all.
So here's a timely look behind the scenes of the visual effects in 2012, in particular, a scene in which Las Vegas is leveled. So...this is a metaphor for the housing crisis?
