Sean Connery Returns, Or At Least His Voice Does
Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 2:04AM
Hey, hey - Sean Connery is acting again, and you know what that means: It's time to break out the Zardoz shot.

In the words of Brian Fantana from Anchorman, "That's the smell of desire, my lady."
Anyway, back to Connery. After going out in style with League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, he said facetiously, Connery has been absent from the scene for about half a decade, even turning down a chance to be in Indiana Jones and the Legend of the Crystal Skull. But now he's back, kind of. The Hollywood Reporter says Connery will executive produce and supply his often imitated voice to the animated film Sir Billi.
It's an adaptation of a 2006 short film (which Connery also voiced), with 007 playing "a retired, skateboarding veterinarian who lives in a remote Scottish village and who spearheads the rescue of an illegal fugitive who also happens to be a beaver." You know, this reminds me: I never remember my dreams, but I'm sure I've had this one. I just feel it.
And to make this a little more bizarre, Shirley Bassey, best remembered by movie fans for absolutely owning the Goldfinger theme song, will be reunited with the original 007 here, agreeing to sing a song called "Guardian of the Highlands."
