Trailer - JCVD's 'Universal Soldier: Regeneration'

You have to wait until the very end to see something pretty cool in this new trailer for Universal Soldier: Regeneration, but before you get there, you'll smirk just a little bit at the fact that we've got a new one of these movies. However, the trailer looks like it might have a little bit of decent action - as if the producers knew exactly where to spend its reported $14 million budget - and as I said...there's a strong bit at the end.

Jean-Claude Van Damme makes his return to the franchise, and Dolph Lundgren, soon to be featured in Stallone's Expendables, is also a dominant presence here. That is a lot of early 90's action thunder, I'm sure you'll agree.
Speaking of throwbacks, the action takes place in and around Chernobyl, where former Soviet radicals threaten to unleash a cloud of radioactive gas and the only way to stop them? Universal Soldiers, of course.
Don't look for this in theaters; if you paid attention to the studio logo, this is Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, meaning direct-to-DVD. And that release date is January 5th.
