Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 4:02AM A Trio of New Posters for 'Nine'
We've been on a poster kick so far this week, revamping the one-sheets for several movies that have high aspirations during awards season. Curiously enough, most of them come from The Weinstein Company, which has now updated posters for its primary charge this year, the adroitly cast musical Nine. Two of the three posters come from Yahoo! and the third is from MSN.

Yeah, that first one is quite good. Can't really judge the second on its own merits, other than to say it's not nearly as good as the other one. Well, OK, and the Photoshopping doesn't even look like it's trying to project anything natural.
The one with the white background...yeah, it's OK, and it wouldn't surprise me if we saw more just like it highlighting the other women in the cast. However, last week we saw a foreign poster for Nine that was really blah in comparison to these. But I think there's a clear favorite here out of the gate.
Nine opens on December 25th.

Nicolas Cage is back. I missed him doing a movie. I will watch this movie.
(That's not Nic Cage.)
The first graphic is slick. The second poster annoys me in many ways. I truly hate it when people are "flipped" to make them fit into the composition. No one looks the exact same from both sides and fans of that particular person do notice. Or at least I do. Maybe it's because I worked with a guy who did this on a routine basis. Made me nuts. Also, it seems someone did a real Barbie number on Penelope's waistline when compared to the third poster. And Fergie's pic... is that a black eye or an eye patch?
I'm really not this negative. LOL Still love the first poster. Truly fab.
Why is it that Penelope Cruz is doing the exact same pose on all three posters? Is she permanently stuck in that pose the entire movie? The first and second look like the same picture but they couldn't come up with something more original?
haha on the first two posters you can tell they've used the EXACT SAME pictures of all the members of the cast save Marion Cotilliard.
Now that I think about it, Daniel Day-Lewis really does look like Nic Cage in that poster.
Wow eww, you guys please dont compare Nicolas Cage to Daniel Day Lewis!!!
- in looks
- in acting style
- in whatever, ok, that is just a disservice and pretty offending.
WOW these posters are amazing, I dont think I've ever seen such posters in my life like them to be honest, but knowing me I havent paid close attention to posters until about eh maybe 2 yrs ago...
But these are just f-ing sick! Wow if I was DDLewis I would be flirting with every female in that cast, I mean wow that is a lot of estrogen, the married man must of had a good time...thats for sure
