Another Original 'A-Team' Member Confirms Cameo

As much as we may hate to admit it, the early indications are that The A-Team is moving in the right direction. The casting for at least three of the key roles seems perfect, we know with Joe Carnahan directing it probably won't be as 80s campy, shifting instead to a grittier approach, and the van is back. About the only thing that can screw it up is TV cast member cameos.

Damn it: Dirk Benedict just revealed on Dirk Benedict Central that he will film his role in Vancouver. He follows Dwight Schultz, the original "Howling Mad" Murdock, in announcing his walk-on role. That leaves only World of Warcraft pitchman Mr. T...and I think you know what he'll say.

It's not that I don't want these guys to take a trot around the old stadium for one final round of applause, but unless the movie's a comedy - like Starsky & Hutch - the TV cast member cameos just tend to clutter the landscape. Now you know about them, so in June, you'll be looking for them. That takes you right out of the action. Now, that's a generalization, and these cameos could be buried pretty deep and you may not ever notice them, but I still think a lot of people will be on the lookout for the old A-Team instead of watching the new crew.

Plus, Peppard's dead.

I'm just not a big tongue-in-cheek cameo kind of guy, whether it's Hitchcock walking in front of the camera in all of his movies or E.T. planted in crowd scenes in the second Star Wars trilogy. Let the story you're telling be the story you're telling.

"Plus, Peppard's dead."

Peppard will be making a posthumous appearance so the cameo crew is complete!
