Yet Another 'Sherlock Holmes' Trailer

There are a few more scenes hinted at in the latest Sherlock Holmes trailer, and one of them - what appears to be a perilous fencing duel atop a bridge - could be the showstopper this one really needs. Of course, it's not all new, and in fact, a few of the clips dogeared together here are starting to feel tired already, because they've been in all the footage we've seen over the past however many months.

I think part of that burnout might stem from the fact that Warner Bros. began marketing a December 25th release back when it was still supposed to be a November 20th start. Whatever it is, I almost didn't post this trailer just because so much of it is being regurgitated. But in the end, there are a few extended versions of things we've seen, a couple new jokes, and a very brief glimpse of what I hope will be a cool fight scene.

I think everyone realizes this will be Guy Ritchie's first major box office hit, and it could cement Robert Downey's status as a trustworthy leading man, the way Charlie and the Chocolate Factory made Johnny Depp bankable beyond Captain Jack Sparrow.

well I like how the trailers don't give away too much of the plot, but I feel like all of the hocus pocus supernaturalness of this film is going to take away from the character Sherlock Holmes. I like Downey Jr. a lot, but I still can't get used to him as Mr. Holmes. It seems they made him into an action hero rather than a detective, which might just ruin it.

I think Jeremy Brett was the best likeness of Sherlock Holmes.Nobody can beat him. All others look tame. To see Robert in this role after seeing him in iron man is a joke.
