Second 'Despicable Me' Trailer with Steve Carell

The first teaser for Despicable Me had a fair amount of laughs, and the second trailer, just released last night, isn't nearly as funny although it's certainly a nice companion piece. Now, don't get this confused with Oobermind, which is another 2010 supervillain cartoon comedy. That one's about a villain who kills his archrival and loses the will to live. Despicable Me is about a villain named Gru (Steve Carell) who wants to one-up another bad guy (Jason Segel) by stealing the moon. That would do it. While this trailer is a bit of a step down, I have to say I really admire what appears to be a total homage to the old Warner Bros. cartoons. This is straight out of a Roadrunner/Wile E. Coyote cartoon. So, hopefully there will be a lot of plaffs and ACME products. Oh, the animation looks really crisp, too. Despicable Me heads to theaters on July 9th.
