Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 5:05PM New 'Nine' Trailer Adds Character Development
So far, our exposure to Nine has been limited to sultry musical numbers and quick editing. If the trailer and commercials we'd seen to this point showed us anything it's how ludicrously good the production looks, which is not at all to say that the story holds up or the performances are worth your money. But the look of it is, even if your not a fan of musicals, up there with the best movies of the year.

Now comes a new trailer that provides us a little more exposure to the characters. You may have already known that Daniel Day-Lewis plays an Italian film director in Nine and that the women - featuring five Oscar winners, one nominee, and a Black Eyed Pea - all represent something different to him. So this trailer, while not as sparkling as the first, is a lot more informative.
It's still got plenty of glitz and music, but now character and motivation is shoehorned into it. Obviously, the effect is a little bit different.
Thanks, Trailer Addict
Nine officially opens on December 18th, but some cities may not get it until later, either the next week or into January.

Thanks, Trailer Addict

You could also find out about the plot, a save yourself ten bucks, by renting 8 1/2.
Or just reading a plot description of 8 1/2.
That would mean not watching 8 1/2 though. : )
Agreed, but I don't think I need to tell you old movies with subtitles aren't flying off the shelves, no matter how good they are.
This looks fabulous. Loved 8 1/2, loved the revival broadway production, and I cannot wait for this to hit the theaters!
