First 'Sex and the City 2' Poster

The design on this new Sex and the City 2 poster is much, much better than anything they rolled out for its predecessor in the summer of 2008. Oh sure, it's Photoshopped to death, and I can't imagine what Carrie Bradshaw is doing on the set of Transformers 2 (check out the reflection in her glasses), but it's glitzy and eye-catching, and based on how limited the story was in the first movie, glitzy and eye-catching is the only hook they can use at this point.
Click to see the whole thing Sex and the City had a huge opening weekend and then kind of lazily made millions and millions more, so I expect the sequel to follow the same pattern, though I doubt it will be as big a deal to the hardcore fans, who really helped christen the first film in a big way. It's still going to be obscenely profitable, but I doubt it will scale heights in the $150 million range domestically when it's released next Memorial Day weekend. Thanks to IMP Awards for the poster.

It's glitzy, and glamourous and whatnot. I honestly can't imagine people being truly excited for this movie though. I think us "Sex" fans (yes, that does include myself) had our helping with the first movie. I know that the first film wasn't amazing or anything, but it was good fan service, plus it gave us some closure after the series ended. This seems unnecessary to me. But with that being said (and because I live with "Sex" fanatics), I'm sure I'll still be going to see it when it opens next year.

Vince, I think this movie is unnecessary because the first movie was just the last season all over again. The only difference was, Carrie got married instead of merely picking a winning suitor.
