Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 11:09PM Brand New Clip from 'Solomon Kane'
There are three things to keep in mind when watching this clip from the soon-to-be-released Solomon
Kane. The first is, even though it's a character by Conan author Robert E. Howard, this movie is not being made because
Conan is also returning to the screen. They've been planning this movie for a very long time, but had a difficult time
getting it made.

The second and third things are related to the trailer. Chief among those is that, because they had so much trouble getting
Solomon Kane off the ground, the budget eventually became very modest. This is a great-looking $40 million action
movie/effects-laden period piece, as this clip and the trailer attest to.
Secondarily, the clip, called "Hall of Mirrors," is witnessed only briefly in the trailer, part of a collage of action scenes. That
could mean there's plenty to keep your eyes busy, since they're not relying on one cool minute-long chunk of the movie to do most of the selling.

We still don't have a firm release date in the US, but I heard Rogue has purchased the rights to Solomon Kane, and if that's true, I would expect it to arrive before the summer, where standing out from the crowd is decidedly more difficult.
