Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 8:47PM Trailer - The 3-D Last Gasp, 'Shrek Forever After'
I must confess I could not hide a little smile when Puss in Boots declares in this trailer that Shrek Forever After is "the final chapter." Talk about a franchise that went nowhere. Actually, that's not 100% fair: The best development in the series was Antonio Banderas' Puss in Boots, and he wasn't around until the first sequel. Beyond that, though? Pretty stagnant.

In the fourth movie, it appears the world of Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, and Puss in Boots is turned upside down. We're told it's some kind of curse, like they all got together to watch The Love Guru or something. Anyway, it's not all happily ever after in Far Far Away.
Even though it's in 3-D, Shrek Forever After doesn't appear any different. I don't know if that's a good thing or not. When I saw a production still, it did give the impression of having a slightly more realistic look, but I don't sense that in the trailer.
The final Shrek opens May 21st. Any thoughts? It looks pretty tame to me.

"It looks pretty lame to me".
There Colin, I fixed your last sentence. It had a mistake, but I fixed it.
In all seriousness, the trailer is nothing at all special (it's even worse than the "How to Train Your Dragon" one- I really don't like how that movie's coming along). But there's at least a plot in this movie, unlike the last one. Not that I have much hope, but this movie has potential. SOME potential, but not a lot.
