Save Us From A 'Saved By The Bell' Movie

This had to happen, so maybe it's better that we may not have to wait any longer: Pajiba writes that a Saved by the Bell movie is inching closer to becoming a reality. I know you're thrilled. Much like the recent 90210 retread, this won't be a reunion but a whole new cast of characters, so no Screech or whatever Tiffani Amber Theissen's character was called. I can't speak for Principal Belding, but if one original character would return, it might be him, just to hold things together. And I can't believe I just wrote that. The responsible parties here are Jon Shestack Productions (the Shestacks were the only good thing about this summer's Land of the Lost), and producers Jeremy Stein and Ginny Brewer. They have apparently been pimping the project to writers, but so far, no official developments on the screenplay have been reported. One thing that we shouldn't discount as that this film might end up - might end up - like the 21 Jump Street flick Jonah Hill is producing. It's playing full cheese, and I can see that working in this case, too. Actually, let me rephrase that, I don't see anything else working in this case.
