If only the year in movies was one three-minute music video montage of memorable moments. Instead, some of the images we'll remember were from bad movie, just like it is in every year.

But now is no the time to separate the good from the bad. In a new video assembled by Zack Young, the year in movies is set to Acarde Fire's "Wake Up," and the effects of Avatar are side-by-side with 2012 and A Serious Man mingles with a way too serious Christian Bale in Terminator Salvation. And even though I think the year as a whole is less impressive than previous years (particularly here in awards season, where most of the contenders are coming up short), this is still a fantastic way to spend a few minutes.
Young does a great editing job here; it's not just clips randomly thrown together, which given the number of films represented, might have been an easier road to take. I watched it a couple times in a row, and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

great video! thanks for sharing!!
A good video no doubt, just too many clips from some minor movies and not enough of the majors (a few more D9 and Basterds and films not even seen like An Education, A Single Man, etc) and less funny people, T2 and GI Joe... still though, very well put together.
Less Funny People I certainly agree with. At least G.I. Joe and Terminator look good for .8 seconds each.
Thanks for the clip Colin. A similar one but more likely a tribute to the action in 2009 movies is this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZaTFmEL-l0
Especially the cutting is quite impressive.
