Monday, December 21, 2009 at 10:23PM Righteous Red Band Hit-Girl Trailer for 'Kick-Ass'
OK, so I can see why some studios might have had some doubts about releasing Kick-Ass now. After all, in this Red Band character trailer, Hit-Girl (12-year-old Chloe Moretz) drops The F-bomb and The Dreaded C-Word. It's not that the movie looks bad in any way - in fact, it continues to look better and better - but I just don't visualize a scenario in which one of the major studios rolls the dice on a movie with such a foul-mouthed pre-teen, especially in a film this violent.

On the plus side, I said last week that I thought the breakout star of this film just might be Moretz, and the new trailer certainly isn't moving me from that position, part of Kick-Ass looking better and better.
I hope it's a monster hit for Matthew Vaughn. Layer Cake and Stardust both should have found bigger audiences, and he took full charge of this project because he believed in it more than anyone else. Now it looks like he might get the last laugh, and it could lead to much bigger projects down the line for Vaughn, as well.

How much did that rock? Watch it again, why don't you. Kick-Ass opens April 16th.

Ok watching the trailer and...yep, "Kick-Ass" still looks absolutely amazing.
My most anticipated movie of next year. Not "Iron Man 2" (but it's up there). Not "Inception". Not "Alice in Wonderland". It's "Kick-Ass". This vid only solidifies it.
