Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 7:50AM Trailer - Vacation Gone Wrong in 'Frozen'
That would suuuuuuuck. Could you imagine getting stuck on a ski lift not just overnight but stranded dozens of feet in the air for a week? That's the premise for Frozen, which I have to admit seems to be a winter sports version of Open Water.

The trailer for the low-budget suspense flick has debuted on the ol' internet and, you know, I can see how it might induce a little fright in a packed theater. But again, it's not a new concept so the filmmakers have to really be up to something in acts two and three, which may or may not be hinted at here in the trailer.
You'll notice that Shawn Ashmore is in the trailer, and he's Iceman from the X-Men movies. I dunno...seems like stunt casting to have Iceman trapped in the snow with no way out, doesn't it?

OK...but couldn't they just slide down the cable until they found a safer distance to drop to terra firma? I mean, I see that they tried when the sun came up (presumably) the next day, but wouldn't it be the first thing you tried?
Beyond that, though, I do like the opening titles in this trailer. It does kind of make sense that this would happen eventually. You'd just figure it would happen to people who had the gumption to wear some damn gloves on a ski lift so their hands didn't freee to the rail. Sigh...
Frozen opens February 5th.

I was extremely let down by this director's previous film, Hatchet, and after the ravenous fanboy posts hyping that movie I'm not going to be swayed so easily by seeing those same sites pimping this one. StilI, I am definitely curious to see how he handles this since it looks like a good chunk of the movie is going to be on a ski lift.
Maybe one of the dumber looking trailers I have seen, and I just watched Knight and Day so thats saying a lot.
This looks like what might have happened to "Paranormal Activity". Supposedly Paramount bought THAT movie originally with the idea of making a bigger, slicker production. If there's a "one camera", "shot-on-video" version of this somewhere, it might be more interesting.
