Trailer - Jet Li's Historical Epic 'The Warlords'

This seems like a good time to remind you to check out Mongol, a Best Foreign Language Film nominee two years ago and (because of hinky release patterns for international movies in the US), one of our picks for last year's best films. It's the beginning of a planned Genghis Khan trilogy, and mixed in with a well-framed story and good performances are some excellent battle sequences. Combat is sure to grab your eye in this trailer for The Warlords, a new Jet Li film that isn't new at all, actually. It's a couple years old already (here are those hinky release patterns again), and last year it was nominated for a handful of Asian Film Awards and a baker's dozen Hong Kong Film Awards, winning six in all, including Best Picture. The trailer is put together very well, and I think you'll notice the emphasis placed on the visual, something the Asian cinema in general and Hong Kong in particular gets right a lot of the time.
Kudos to Trailer Spy The Warriors will be in theaters April 2nd as part of Magnet's Six Shooter Film Series.
