Sunday, December 27, 2009 at 3:48PM Indie Trailer: 'Portrait of a Zombie'
I'm not going to argue that we need more zombie movies, but I like where Portrait of a Zombie appears to be headed. It's designed as a documentary of sorts, in which a filmmaking crew making a film about an Irish family taking care of its son after he has been transformed into a zombie, unwittingly becomes part of that story.

I like it because it's not just the same thing all over again. We don't see anyone trying to humanize zombies in our movies, and that may be what writer-director Bing Bailey clutched onto first when developing this story: What happens next when a family protects its zombie son, and how do they come to terms with the fact that he's gotta eat sooner or later?
It looks like a pretty low-budget affair, but that fits the mold of both zombie movies and documentaries. So we'll see how long Bailey can keep the story moving forward and what the ultimate conclusion will be. Take a look at the trailer; it's pretty well put together, I think.

All we know about the film's release at this point as that it will arrive in its native Ireland next year, which is almost this year now. We'll keep you posted. There's also a Facebook page for the film if you want to go that route.

Litres of it
I can't wait to watch this! looks sooo good
It's either an intense, intimate drama set in a time of zombie infestation or another amateur "Living Dead" homage, doomed to direct-to-video. Thing is, you'll have to see the whole thing to figure that out.
