'G.I. Joe' Super Bowl Commercial is Pretty Sweet

I made a couple mental notes while watching this all-too-brief Super Bowl ad for G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra: Right off the bat, I don't care how crazy she is, some days I'm into Sienna Miller, and today is one of those days. Sorry.

The second thing that stands out is that, despite my earlier belief that this could only work if they went cheeseball with it, I now think a straight-laced action flick might be a much better approach. The stunts and effects are pretty good, especially since they've still got six months to tweak some of those things and smooth them all out.

But here it is, many hours early. I will say that it's the only ad we've seen so far that I'd prefer to watch on my big ol' HDTV, so that's got to count for something.

The Rise of Cobra shall be in August.
