Pixar's 'Up' Debuts Two Super Bowl Ads

Pixar has entered the Super Bowl fray with two commercials for its summer release, Up. I wonder how this one will play with the kids; the hero, Carl Fredricksen, is a senior citizen voiced by Edward Asner. It's not exactly as appealing to six-year-olds as talking cars.

Of course, more than any other studio, Pixar is known for its obsession with quality, so they'll get some leeway, although I can't say either one of these commercials really makes me think this is going to be one of those very special Pixar flicks. And it's weird that this will be the first 3-D Pixar movie. Doesn't seem like it's the best choice to me.

Take a look at the commercials and see what you think:

Up will be Pixar's second-ever film released in the month of May, and it hits theaters on May 29th.

Looks alright - not nearly as brilliant as WALL-E though. But hey, according to most people, Pixar's "worst film" is Cars, and that's not saying very much.
