McG Confirms (Part of) Arnold in 'Terminator'

We now know what we already knew: Arnold Schwarzenegger will appear in Terminator Salvation in one form or another.

The Playlist reports director McG confirmed the news this weekend at the New York Comic Con, saying, "The T-800s as we know them look like Arnold. The T-800 plays a big role in this movie." Not divulging all the cards in his hand, he added, "I can't quite tell you how we express that..."

He did say that one thing we won't see is a 60-something T-800, meaning McG is turning back the clock on the T-800. "I don't want today's Arnold Schwarzenegger. I want the idealized, Griffith Park, Bill Paxton, tire-track-on-the-face archetype and we'll see what we can do about that."

Of course, there has been constant chatter about this very thing for months and months, and now, finally, there's an official word. The director said that ILM will be working on creating something new based on Arnold's look and the body of Roland Kickinger, the Shcwarzenegger doppelganger (or Schwarzenganger, if you will) who will be essentially play the T-800 on screen.

It can look great or it can look like The Rock's head on a big-ass scorpion in The Mummy II, in which case, Terminator Salvation would be laughed out of the the megaplex. So let's hope they get it right.

If ILM fucks it up, they will be getting a very stern scolding from Christian Bale.
