Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 9:21PM The 'Inglourious Basterds' Trailer Footage Premieres
There's an extremely low quality version of the the Inglourious Basterds trailer premiere footage on Entertainment Tonight, although I don't think a clean copy would help Brad Pitt's woeful accent.

Somebody stuck a camera phone in front of the TV, so we'll get a better version as soon as we can, but you can still see some of what director Quentin Tarantino has in mind, and unfortunately, you can still hear Pitt, who apparently summered at the John Malkovich School for Unweildy Dialects.
You do get to see Hitler acting like a buffoon, though, so that's a nice surprise.
Basterds will premiere at Cannes in May, and will roll into theaters this August.

Wow, I didn't think this project sounded good , until I saw that clip, now I'm excited for another very good addition to QT's body of work. Still though, it seems like instead of growing up QT has just been having more fun, but maybe that's all he can do, and he just happened to make a masterpiece out of pure pop culture, bloody, fun called pulp fiction. I just wonder if he can ever make anything up to that caliber again.
Well, the clip has been yanked, but I'm guessing the "unwieldy dialect" you refer to is intentional on QT's part. That's just the kind of filmmaker he is, and for some reason it almost always works. I understand why there are those out there who don't really "get" anything Tarantino has done since Pulp Fiction, but count me firmly on the "love him" side of things. I'm interested to see if he can pull this off in as short of time as he gave himself.
