It appears that Black Widow in Iron Man 2 might become one of the more sought after roles in Hollywood. After Emily Blunt was linked to the role, she was more or less tugged out of it by Fox, which used a contract stipulation from The Devil Wears Prada to get her services for the upcoming Gulliver's Travels. That left the door open for more actresses to come into the picture.

First it was Eliza Dushku, imploring fans to get the word out about her during a trip to Howard Stern's show. And now Entertainment Weekly says Marvel has met with Scarlett Johansson about the role. "Marvel will not confirm," writes EW, but sources around Hollywood say Johansson has indeed met with the filmmakers and is interested in taking the role of Russian superspy Natasha Romanoff, who doubles as Black Widow."
I don't think this would be very good casting. Even though I wasn't the biggest fan of Emily Blunt being the first choice, she's a better pick than ScarJo. I've found recently that she drains nearly every movie she's in of its energy, even though the only reason she's in most of the movies in the first place is to ratchet up the sexuality. And I really don't know about her doing an accent, something that simply has to be there.
Blunt is still trying to coordinate both projects, even though they're supposedly shooting at the same time. I'd gladly take her over Dushku and Johansson, but who else should we be thinking about for this role, or do you think Marvel really wants to hand it off to Scarlett?

Black Widow does have the cleavage thing going, which is Scarlett's only talent.
