Most TV stars never make the transition to movie stars. Why is that? I couldn't say. But it's
rarer than you'd think.

For Hayden Panettiere
, probably the best news for her career is that Heroes isn't putting up the kind of
numbers it would need to hang around a really long time. Plus, she's still very young, so she has time to find her
way into movie stardom, if it's going to happen.
The approach is right in this case, taking a high school comedy called I Love You, Beth Cooper
, in which
she plays the object of her school valedictorian's affection. I don't know that the movie looks that great, but
it's got a wider appeal than if she played a drug addict in some overly affected indie drama. And since nobody
expects her to be Meryl Streep, why bother trying?
I Love You, Beth Cooper is the first film directed by Chris Columbus
in a while, and it will be in theaters July 10th.
