Robert Pattinson: Oscars Presenter

Hitfix is reporting that one cat is out of the bag for this Sunday's Oscars telecast: Twilight brooder Robert Pattinson will apparently present one of the evening's awards.

We've been very critical of the show's producers, who have decided or were instructed to change things up after last year's Academy Awards was the lowest rated in history. But as we've pointed out, that has more to do with viewers not having a rooting interest in the nominees than anything else.

Still, the goal this year is to be different, so on top of all the substantive changes, the list of presenters is being kept secret, as if that's going to be a reason to tune in. If this new development is true, Pattinson would of course draw a fervent young crowd, even if he is just giving out the prize for Best Makeup or something.

Of course, if the producers just announced all the presenters, the chances of attracting an even bigger crowd would seem to go up, but now I'm just belaboring the point.

I’m excited to see him present at the Oscars. I’m almost as big a fan of the Oscars as I am with Twilight, and I agree with the EverHype review that called it “Pleasing.” They’re a great new site that lets readers hype the movies, music, and games that they love and hate – check them out at www.everhype.com/?utm_source=bc. I bet his co-star will make a beautiful presenter as well.
