Monday, February 2, 2009 at 1:07AM More Commercials from Super Bowl XLIII
The Super Bowl was loaded with action, and for the second straight year, the game was
better than the commercials. We shared some Super Bowl commercials with you before the big game, but that
didn't represent everything that wound up premiering for millions and millions of viewers.

Here are the ones we weren't able to offer up before the game:
Angels & Demons
The Year One
Monsters vs. Aliens (in 3-D)
Duplicity Trailers courtesy of Trailer Addict
The trailer for The Year One is one that threw us for a loop; on Saturday, a far superior two-minute
clip appeared online that was rumored to be what we'd see during the Super Bowl. And unless I missed
something while I was gorging myself on my award-winning chili, it didn't air and the trailer above did. I
also didn't see the Duplicity promo, nor did I hear it was going to be part of the game.
The real fun now will be seeing who spent their money most wisely. I didn't get anything out of the 3-D
experience for Monsters vs. Aliens. Well, other than a feeling of disorientation and a headache that
lasted about half an hour. So I don't think DreamWorks got a bump, although there's no denying
Transformers, Star Trek, and G.I. Joe were the ultimate winners of the night.
Other than the Steelers, that is.

As far as the movies go, G.I.Joe was by far the big winner. Transformers was brief and confusing, and Star Trek looks fantastic, but they crammed so many quick shots in I didn't know what to think. Angels and Demons did a good job of showcasing it's product, but I don't think intrigued any newcomers. Monsters vs. Aliens was nothing new and television 3D technology is not there yet.
P.S. Are you happy now? Our beloved hometown team lost so maybe they'll leave town like you always wanted them to like that bitch from Major League.
After some thought I gotta agree with you on the Year One trailer. At first I felt the trailer did a decent job, but I think that clip would have been more effective and original.
Transformers was money well spent considering the audience. I really liked the first one ( for what it was....I don't take it as seriously as some). I will admit I wasn't all that impressed with the spot...even if I know it will be effective. I felt like I was watching the exact same trailer for the first movie, except with bigger Transformers.
I guess that's the point though haha.
The reason I think G.I. Joe was effective is because it had the most to prove. I think Transformers is a better 30 seconds, but we now know more about Joe than we had until then, and we had zero to compare it to.
And yes, I am so goddamn happy the Cardinals lost the Super Bowl. Now they can revert back to mediocrity. And that team isn't beloved. That's why everyone in town is wearing new jerseys; they were embarrassed by the Cardinals for years.
I just hate Bill Bidwill; the guy wouldn't buy replacement socks for his players!
Oh, so new fans aren't allowed to support the Cardinals now just because they are winning? What else does the team need to do? They barely lost the Super Bowl, Yay! In your face, take that bandwagoners! I just don't get it. You don't have to like the home team just because you live here, it's your right to support whomever you want. I just don't understand your staunch anti-Cardinal stance. Don't hate on this year's team based on the owner and decades of mediocrity.
Okay, rant over.
No offense, Colin.
Keep up the good work on the site, I didn't mean to get off topic.
