Monday, February 2, 2009 at 2:48PM Temper, Temper: Bale's 'Terminator' Tirade
Remember right after The Dark Knight was released and there were those domestic violence charges filed against Christian Bale by his mother and sister? The charges were dropped, but in the wake of that there were reports that the actor went off on the Terminator Salvation director of photography, a guy named Shane Hurlbut.

TMZ got its hands on the audio, which was submitted by the producers to the insurers of T4 in case Bale ever refused to come to work. That Christian Bale...he's a hothead.
Here's four minutes of unbridled profanity from Batman:
Clearly, cooler heads prevailed, and nobody got his ass kicked.

Someone at (or associated with) the insurance company just got probably more than a year's salary by selling this to TMZ...
This is embarrassing and disturbing. Bale really needs therapy.
If you I were working with a terrible pop ass director McG who hired that stupid DP who couldn't hold it. Thats why McG makes horrible ass movies. Bale was one edge working with dumb people.
You have to wonder how often this happens with other "stars" and we never hear about it. The information age provides no hiding spot these days...
Makes you wonder what TMZ would have been able to dig up on John Wayne back in the day.
I Hate King -
I've worked with plenty of stupid people; I've never shouted at any of them for four minutes.
You mean John Wayne was not such a nice guy? You've gotta be regoddamndiculous!
The DP is a second-rate guy who came from being a grip. He is known for having disdain for actors and was totally in the wrong. If he had been behaving like a professional, he would have acted totally different. The DP has HOURS to light the scene. When the camera rolls, his job should have been done long before. He behaved humbly because he knew Bale was right. That is why they are "alright" now. Also, I wonder whether it was the sound mixer or the insurance office assistant who pocketed the cash for this clip to go public. Probably the office PA. Sound mixers, though curmudgeonly, are also very professional. It's appalling that folks who know nothing about the actual business of making films comment on a situation that is not unusual. It is akin to working in an office and coming into your office and discover the guys who are in charge of the heating burning your files to make warmth. Yes, it's part of their job but it is destroying your work and costing the company money. Just to keep it real for the punters.
Yeah, but there's a time limit on tantrums, which is what this was. And four minutes is a little much. That's David O. Russell territory. I understand him getting mad or even irate, but at a certain point, he's becoming as big a problem as the original incident. And then Bale in turn forced the production company to go through the process of filing all the insurance paperwork to protect itself against his threat of quitting the project. That's productive.
