Five New Clips from 'Watchmen'

We've got another batch of clips from Watchmen, the most eagerly awaited pre-summer film of the year. Although there is supposed to be a strict embargo on reviews for critics who have already seen the film, you can find some reviews online. The consensus seems to be that fans of the graphic novel will be over the moon with what director Zack Snyder has created, while the uninitiated may have a harder time with it.

That brings up the question about whether adaptations should be faithful to the source material or faithful to the millions of other people being introduced to the story for the first time. My instinct tells me to play to the new audience first, if for no other reason than because the mediums are different, and the most effective forms of storytelling within them are just as different.

We'll see after the opening weekend, I guess. Until then, enjoy a fresh crop of clips:
