Kate Winslet Leads Mr. Skin's Anatomy Awards

Whether or not Kate Winslet wins the Oscar this weekend for The Reader, she still has reason to celebrate. That's right: The future Dame Kate has just been named the Lifetime Skinchievement Award recipient for the 2008 Anatomy Awards presented by Mr. Skin.

At the end of the year, we presented Mr. Skin's top 20 nude scenes (or at least, a list of those scenes), and he was kind enough to add some comments of his own to our story after the fact. See, I didn't think it was a very good year for film nudity, and he believed otherwise. He was dead right about the TV list, however.

While I wouldn't expect Winslet to pick up her trophy if there is one - especially because she said this week she may never appear nude on screen again - she really is deserving of the award. I mean, the highest-grossing film of all time has her naked. She's been nominated for six Oscars, and she's been naked in four of those films. So, clearly, it's an honor she has earned.

Best Nip Slip:

Best Nude with a Toothbrush Scene:
Winner: Leah Cairns in 88 Minutes

Best Bra-and-Panties Scene:
Winner: Lisa Edelstein on House M.D.

Lifetime Skinchievement Award:
Winner: Kate Winslet

Seriously, congratulations to everyone; there are no losers at the Anatomy Awards. But special kudos to Leah Carins. That Best Nude with a Toothbrush Scene is always very competitive.
