Friday, February 20, 2009 at 10:16PM New 'Star Trek' Logo Goes More Boldly
Personally, I don't think it's anything to get up in arms about, but then, I'm not a Trekkie. Or a Trekker. Or whatever the proper terminology is.

This is the new logo for the J.J. Abrams update of Star Trek, a film I'm geniunely excited to see, and I don't say that about too many tentpole movies. Can Abrams take a rather stale franchise (the Kirk years were leaden since...the fifth movie?) and give it the sort of bounce in the public consciousness that the very good spin-offs were able to do through the 1990s and into this decade?
The logo is more or less the same font Abrams and company had used on previous posters, but it's got a harder edge to it now. All that's left, really, is taking the metrosexuality out of Kirk and Spock, and we're golden.
