Wolverine Puts On His Top Hat for the Oscars

I don't really have anything against Hugh Jackman hosting the Oscars. I still believe they should be using a comedian or a more traditional master of ceremonies. As song and dance men go, Jackman's great; I just don't know if that's what the show needs. It could work or it could fall flat on its face. That said, there's a pretty good video on YouTube of Wolverine rehearsing for the Academy Awards. We know already that the show will kick off with some extravagant musical number, even more elaborate than the kind Billy Crystal used to do. He's still the best host for this show, incidentally, at least since Carson. I'm less concerned about Jackman than all the other gimmicks the producers are trying. Of course, on the other hand, if you don't expect great ratings - and they shouldn't - this is the perfect time to fool around with the structure of the show and find out if some new things can work down the line. I will say in closing that I think a lot more women would watch if Jackman hosted in a sleeveless t-shirt.
