Possible Oscar Rundown Leaked Online

We know that the producers of the Academy Awards are calling a few audibles. Last year's ratings, combined with a changing marketplace that allows movie fans to get the results instantly online without the need for the telecast as well as a less-than-mainstream group of nominees, has created the opportunity for change at the Oscars. Cinemascopian claims to have gotten its hands on the official rundown for the show, one of the things we figured would look a little different this year. The one thing I notice about the itinerary is the placement of one award in particular, Best Supporting Actor. TV ratings aren't one static number; if you have a bunch of great stuff at the beginning and nothing at the end, people tune out, and the tune outs are reflected in your ratings. To avoid any of that, the show will kick off with the usual curiosity factor and end in the third hour with the coronation of Slumdog Millionaire. But the second hour is kicked off by the Best Supporting Actor award - Heath Ledger's award, thus taking care of the tune outs. Now it's just a matter of getting them all to tune in. We don't know if this is the official rundown, because AMPAS and the producers haven't confirmed it, but it looks about right. All times listed are Pacific Standard Time.

If this is true, then that means we have absolutely no fillers like clip montages or something similar? That would certainly help with the running time. Or maybe this is just a rundown of the awrds themselves and not all the crap inbetween.

Also, I beleive these are West Coast times, yes? It starts at 8:30 on the East coast, so the times listed are not Eastern Standard Time.

Yes, Pacific Time. I'm a dumbass. As for the montages, they'll have those. There are big gaps between some awards. Like between Documentary Short Subject and Visual Effects, even with commercials, there's still three or four extra minutes there. So they'll fill that. Wherever you see a ten minute gap, I would expect there to be a montage or a performance or something.

As for where it's airing on Sky, it's on ABC, so wherever you'd find that normally.
