Michael Shannon - Revolutionary Road Winner: Heath Ledger The evening's real foregone conclusion. A very classy set of speeches by Ledger's family, and a very warm and appropriate reception for the year's best performance and one of the best portrayals of a villain ever captured on film. One question, though: Why didn't the producers sit the family closer to the stage? Maybe for the heartfelt standing ovation.
