Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at 2:18AM Aykroyd Hopeful for Fall 'Ghostbusters III' Shoot
It just stands to reason that the first question Dan Ayroyd was asked in an online chat about
a House of Blues grand opening wouldn't be about that at all, but instead Ghostbusters III.

Boston.com conducted the interview with Elwood Blues last week, and it was subsequently reported by Ain't It Cool
News that he provided a status update on the long-rumored and now axiously awaited part three. "I've heard that
the writers of the Office are currently penning a script," probed an online chatter. "How is this coming along,
and should we look forward to this movie seeing the light of day?"
Aykroyd's response was brief but sufficient. "Script is commenced early summer. Hope to be in production by late
fall 2009."
Now, that kind of goes against what we heard a few months ago, when there was a new update about Ghostbusters
3 everyday for about a week. At that time, there was a version of a script written by Harold Ramis that
Office writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnisky were giving the once over. Perhaps their work on that
script just hasn't happened yet because of the obligations to the show. That sounds reasonable.
In any event, it still looks promising for the third movie, which is said to feature the original Ghostbusters in mentor roles to a new crew, which may or may not resemble the cast of a Judd Apatow movie.
