Favreau Confirms No Emily Blunt in 'Iron Man 2'

Jon Favreau apparently told The Fifth Letter of the Alphabet during its post-Oscar coverage that Emily Blunt was out of the running for Iron Man 2. This isn't exactly news, but now there's some finality to it. It's been a strange couple of months for Blunt, the young Golden Globe nominee winner from The Devil Wears Prada who you thought would've stepped on the career accelerator by now. Her turn in the big budget Wolf Man was one of many Universal films shuffled till later this year, but she reasserted the notion that she's a pretty good actress thanks to her work in Sunshine Cleaning, which I just saw yesterday. The Iron Man role would have been huge for her, but instead, she's committed to Gulliver's Travels for Fox. Favs wouldn't address who might fill the Black Widow role now that Blunt is out of the picture, so I guess that Scarlett Johansson rumor is as plausible as anything else. It would be bad casting, of course, but that's never stopped a blockbuster before.
