New Ferrell-Wahlberg Comedy Making the Rounds
Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 1:16PM
How about this for a comedy tandem: Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. Variety says that a
new action comedy directed by Adam McKay is a hot commodity being shopped to studios to fill gaps in their 2010
schedules. Another movie that is making its way around town is a drama by Bourne Ultimatum co-writer George
Nolfi that would star Matt Damon.

While I certainly think there's room for both, I'm more intrigued on the surface by B Team, the action comedy with Ferrell and Wahlberg playing cops. I mean, that's a strange dynamic. Could you imagine if it's Semi-Pro meets The Departed?
Seriously, I just don't know what form that would take.
As for the Damon movie, it sounds like another solid addition to his filmography, and if I can be clinical for a second, there are very few brands in the marketplace any better than the Matt Damon brand. He makes smart, sophisticated thrillers that audiences go crazy for. This would be a loose adaptation of a Philip K. Dick short story, which Nolfi will also direct. It's a "contemporary science fiction love story" called The Adjustment Bureau.
Updates about where each rather expensive film will land should be forthcoming by the end of the week.

They need to hurry up on that buddy cop movie before both of them are too old for this shit.
