Drew Barrymore Could Direct Third 'Twlight' Movie

Well, I didn't see this coming. Entertainment Weekly reports that Drew Barrymore is among the directors in the running to sit behind the camera for the third Twilight movie, Eclipse. Yes, the combination vampire movie-Mitsubishi coupe will be in theaters next summer and Summit Entertainment apparently has a short list of filmmakers it's looking at. But is Drew Barrymore a director? You bet your sweet bippy. She just directed Whip It!, a roller derby comedy starring Ellen Page, which might be out later this year. Still, that's an indie comedy and this, well jeez, it's part of "The Saga." Outside of getting her name attached, there's really no other reason to hire Barrymore. After all, Summit has wanted to take great care of where the franchise goes after Twilight, and I have a hunch Barrymore may not be a better solution than Catherine Hardwicke. Maybe she can prove us all wrong, but if you've got a secret short list of who might be the director and there's a name on it that hasn't even had her directorial debut released, I'm just saying there might be other motives.

I totally agree I don't think that Drew has the capability to even touch a film such as Twlight... and please don't let her as a huge fan of the first film and the books I would totally stand in protest if she did direct knowing for sure she would crush all fans of Twlight expectations...
