Friday, February 27, 2009 at 11:32PM 'The Birds' Remake Might Be in 3-D
An eye-opening development from an unlikely source on the remake of Alfred Hitchock's The
Birds. During an interview with Market Saw, actress Brenna Lee Roth revealed not only some actors attached to
the project but also a new twist on the familiar old classic.

"I am in talks with the producer of The Birds and he said he wanted to do it 3D, but I don't really know any
more about it," said Roth, who added, "Yes, [George Clooney and Naomi Watts are] both attached so far. Should be
fun, I hear from the producers that Clooney is a prankster, and well...so am I, so it should be fun."
First of all, in case you're not familiar with Brenna Lee Roth, she's primarily been a B-movie actress to this
point, and yes, she is the daughter of David Lee Roth. Secondly, the Clooney rumor was first put out there by Rod
Taylor, who played the same role in the original Birds. I still don't buy it, though. Something about
Clooney in a supporting role in a Hitchcock remake for Platinum Dunes just doesn't sound like it gels to me.
As for the 3-D, that would be a cool development, as far as The Birds goes. And it would be something a
little different, which you always hope for with any remake.
We'll certainly keep our eye on this project as it develops, especially that whole Clooney angle.
