Downey Says Rourke Won't Play Crimson Dynamo in 'Iron Man 2'

When Mickey Rourke was announced as a villain for Iron Man 2, there was speculation over whether or not he'd play Crimson Dynamo. We said probably not; more likely, he'd be lining up to play Whiplash.

MTV caught up to Robert Downey Jr. on the set of Sherlock Holmes, and while he wouldn't say Rourke was aboard, he did deny that it would be in the role of Crimson Dynamo. "That's actually incorrect," said Downey, who when asked about the possibility of Whiplash, answered, "I can neither confirm nor deny that. Or maybe it's some semblance of both."

Downey was also asked - and good job by MTV's Josh Horowitz here - if there's a chance they might be throwing too many villains in the mix this time, with Rourke, Sam Rockwell, and Emily Blunt.

"We're not doing that," says Downey, explaining vaguely that "the villain comes from within."

Downey's interviews are a lot like David Lee Roth lyrics: Sometimes, what he says just sounds good in his head, but there's really no meaning to it whatsoever. So, the villain coming from within might be a smokescreen. Or it could mean we start to see the devil alcohol catching up with Tony Stark.

I think that iron man should make an iron penis so that he might enjoy intercourse wihtout having to take his suit off, you know? I mean really though, if he is indeed a "man" then he should be given man like features with man like desires!
