Discussing a new supernatural thriller he's producing called Room 205, Sam Raimi told The Oakland Press in Michigan that the film will be shot on location there, a nice tip of the hat for the Michigan native to his old stomping grounds.

“It’s a neat screenplay that will become a lovely, bright Midwestern university and tell about how kids become adjusted to their new surroundings," explains Raimi. "In the midst of that, the supernatural will rear its terrifying head.”
That is, of course, not the real story. Raimi also confirmed Michigan will play a part in Spider-Man 4. "I’ll be looking at Michigan for our second-unit photography on the new Spider-Man film,” Raimi told the paper, not straying one inch from the proposed 2010 start date.
It's another win for Michigan, which recently passed tax incentives to bring more film production to the state. Most recently, Gran Torino was shot entirely on location there, and the tormented development of Torso, the David Fincher serial killer movie, was rumored to have its eye on Michigan instead of Cleveland - where the events in the story occurred - simply for the savings.
