Three New Clips from 'Friday the 13th'

If there's one movie in the first couple months of the year that has surprised me with its marketing, it's Friday the 13th. I have to be honest, the easiest, most cost-effective way to promote this movie is to let the name do the talking. But Platinum Dunes and New Line have put together some great posters and trailers that really make you think this might be worth the price of admission.

But the rubber will meet the road here in a little over a week, and we'll see if all the talk is just hot air. In recent years, the press has been kept away from horror remakes as a rule, but we're seeing this early enough for weekly newspaper writers to have a look. That usually means the studio is confident in their finished product, because they could just as easily block the media from checking it out.

In the meantime, here are three brand new clips from Friday the 13th that have popped up at Movie Web. They may not sway you either direction, but then again, they just might.

As luck would have it, the release date for this flick is Friday the 13th. I can't remember where, but someone online - perhaps Bloody Disgusting - tried to pinpoint when the next Friday the 13th would be upon us. Unless it happens later this year, which it won't, the next few options are in August 2010 (maybe), May 2011 (doubtful), or in January, April, or July of 2012. I'd say it'll either be next August or in April 2012, if I had to hazard a guess.
