Friday, February 6, 2009 at 1:25PM Bale on Backlash: "I Deserve It Completely"
If there's a right way to handle the situation in which Christian Bale has found himself this
week, Bale just gave us a pretty good blueprint. The star of The Dark Knight was, as you know by now caught on
tape blitzing his Terminator Salvation cinematographer, Shane Hurlbut, with a four-minute outburst of F-
bombs. And today, Bale appeared on the Kevin and Bean show in Los Angeles to take his lumps.

"I was out of order beyond belief, I was way out of order," said Bale. "I acted like a punk, I regret that and
there is nobody that has heard that tape that has been hit harder by it than me. I make no excuses for it, it is
inexcusable and I hope that is absolutely clear. I'm embarrassed by it."
Continued the much more even-tempered star, "I ask everybody to sit down and ask themselves, have they ever had a
bad day and have they ever lost their temper and really regretted it immensely. Feel free to make fun of me at my
expense; I deserve it completely."
Bale told Kevin and Bean that the situation is water under the bridge now, and that he and Hurlbut have "resolved this completely," but that the current spin on the argument has really gotten to him:
"The thing that disturbs me so much is that I've heard a lot of people saying that I seem to think I'm better than anybody else. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I'm a lucky SOB. I never forget that and that is why I put so much into what I do and I care so much about it . Sometimes that enthusiasm just goes awry."
Lesson learned?

Shared AND saved! Glad we have finally heard from the source. Now how about Hurlbut?
I don't know if it's lesson learned, only time will tell. Given this and the whole bit with his mom and sister(?) he just comes off like the powder keg always at the ready to blow. His admissions now are likely more self-deprecating spin control than not. Haha ok I'm an ass sorry... you got me, can we put this to bed? 'k thanks bye!
Well, I'm glad he came out and talked about it. Better than just hiding from it. If he means it, I'm happy. But since that thing did happen with his mother and sister, I'm still not so convinced that it was just about him having a bad day...
I'll give him this much rope, Asana: All of that stuff with his family happened in July, as well. So, he's got the pressure of working on Terminator and the unbelievable spotlight of The Dark Knight right on top of each other. I'm not saying any of his actions are justified, but I think, if anything, he can look at that month and see how much he can handle at once.

It is, of course, Class 1 A i damage control.
Saying sorry is a completely different thing from being sorry.
I've had temper explosions too. But the difference is that I yell for 10 seconds, then I feel bad and buy the guy a beer.
If you go off into your own world of anger for 4 minutes over nothing, then a bad day or even a bad temper has very little to do with it.
It's funny how this happened in July and he's just now apologizing, of course after he gets caught.
So, you're sorry Mr. Bale? Oooooooh gooood for you!
I think the problem we all have with the tirade is that it was FOUR MINUTES. Everyone has a bad day, but come on FOUR MINUTES?
